and I am SO SO SO happy! i feel so feminine now I dont have to keep pullling my skirt down to make sure its covering my hairy thighs (although i bet I will out of habit!)
I haven't done my bikini line yet but I am so estatic that I can wear my new (almost) mini dress out tonight to a hens night and not have to worry that it doesnt quite cover my old hairline!
I didn't realise until right this moment how much I let my thigh hair rule my life. I wouldn't say I was depressed or even sad before about it but now it feels like a weight has lifted!
I recommend it to ALL of you!

Good for you! I know the higher up on my leg I epilate the more painful it is..but the first time it always the hardest and you did it! It took almost 1 year for me to get to my bikini line but I finally did...and now it doesn't hurt AT ALL!!!!!!!.. so much better than waxing.
I bought an epillator, but it didn't work for me. It left huge red welps all over my legs and it hurt a LOT! Was I doing it wrong or something?

The best way is to work on small areas at a time, and hold the skin taut. I think there are some numbing creams that you can use the first few times...after 2 or 3 times, you really don't feel it anymore...

Holding the skin taut is the key to getting the thighs and the armpits. I don't feel it at all on my lower legs and other areas, but the thighs and pits are killer. I believe it is because the hair is more dense, and the skin is more fatty and not as firm. It seems more likely to get pinched in the tweezers than my more skinny parts. It does get much less painful over time. I don't even feel it on my lower legs anymore, and a lot of the hair hasn't grown back there either. It's pretty awesome.
I especially love the effect on the armpits. It is awesome not to be able to see that dark hair under the skin, and it is less painful than waxing. After getting all the hair out the first time, now I just touch up about once a week. With less hair to pull out each time, it gets less and less painful.
I use the Braun Silk Epil, and I would recomend it to someone who hasn't used a method that removes hair by the roots before. It has a beginners epilator head with fewer tweezers than the main head. It's a good way to get used to the sensation before you move on to the more hardcore hair removal.

That was the first epilator I had. It was really good and I only upgraded because I wanted a rechargable one.

I don't need to but i understand there are smaller epilators that are designed to use on the face.

oh man i had no idea what an epilator was until now. sounds like it yields some pretty good results! so is the hair growth sparser after repeated use? also can anyone recommend a good one to purchase? i can handle the pain (i've been through just about EVERYTHING), i just want everything to be as smooth as possible.
DEFINATELY.
The same effect as waxing I guess, except its not messy, and I would say its harder to do a few minutes touch up each morning. I've been doing my legs for more than 2 years now and only do them about once a week now. I've been doing my armpits for about a year and I do them again twice a week or so.
I still can't believe my smooth, completely hairless thighs. It wows me everytime I see them. Now I just need a tan! lol

it hurts so damn bad!!! i feel each and every hair being pulled out.
i realise that after years of shaving the hair is course and it would hurt more, but still!
i wish i had the guts to use it on my bikini line but oh dear the pain!
i used it on my stomche which hurt like hell too!
haha
maybe i'm a chicken.

does the hair have to be long for it to work, or will it yank out stubble too? oh man i just bought the braun 5270 and i'm so excited. i haven't had stubble-free legs since...puberty. i have destroyed quite a few dishes doing at-home wax melting experiments, so i'm sure my mom will be happy too haha.
