I'm totally clueless here...i have no idea what to think and what is going on.
For the past year i have been dealing and fighting with headaches and migranes....everyday. they were ruining my life and nothing was working. at the same time i was trying to get over "moodswings" as my mom likes to call it....more commonly known as depression, she just didnt want to admit that her baby was a depressed suicidal teenager. i also had crazy period cycles...i got my first period in the 7th grade and they were never normal from there, as of now i havnt had my period for 4 months (not that im complaining, but its just not the best thing). i went from medication to medication. birth control, lexapro, topamax and the list goes on.
Just last week i went to my doctor....again. she took some blood and ran some tests. today she called and told me mom the news....that i have PCOS. of course my mom tells me and im freakin out thinking im only 16 and gonna die or something, but then i found this site. im relieved to know that there are other people my age dealing with this. all the other sites i had found just talked about adults and it kinda worried me. my mom keeps trying to talk to me, but i would so much rather talk to someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

I am 16 and from Alabama! I too have PCOS and was diagnosed over a year ago. And it's been almost 12 months since I had a period. I am not on any meds not but have been on both BCP and Lexapro....
Hi, I'm 17 and have had PCOS for about 2 years or so. I found out when my mom took me to the doctor for not havng my period for almost a year and a half. I was happy and not worring about anything, but my Mom sure was.

I've been a soul cyster since I was diagnosed.... And I tell you it is actually a relief! No one in my family has PCOS and I feel weird talking to my mom about why I've gotten so much facial and body hair in the past year ..... god that is so disgusting!! but anyways Im so glad I found the teen post page... Im really excited about talking to all of yall and I hope you are excitied about talking to me!

I'm 16 and I found out I had PCOS just about two years ago...I guess that would make it eighth grade. Yeah, I had a tough time dealing with it, but I'm on birth control after a failed attempt to control my period with Metformin, and things have been good.
Don't worry, there's bunches of us out there dealing with it. You're not alone.
