Default I just moved to Ottawa

    Hi!

My name is Cindy and I moved to Ottawa in October but I just got my computer back! I was diagnosed with pcos 3 years ago and I am still trying to learn all I can about pcos. My poor bf is just trying to get his head around it.

2 months ago doctors found 2 cysts on my left ovary and it's very painful for me. Does anyone know of a good specialist that deals with pcos that I can get my doctor to refer me too? I've been to too many specialist that look at me like I have horns and a tail when I tell them that I have pcos. I guess I'm tired of dealing with "medical professionals" that have no clue about the disease. Any info would be really appriecated.

    Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cindy
What we have isn't a mark against us. It'a just showing everyone else that we were special enough to be chosen to have PCOS.

    Hi Cindy and Welcome!

I'm recently diagnosed less than a year. But being on this site has been extremly helpful. I'm seeing a Endo called Dr. Phyllis Hierlihy. She was the one that diagnosed me and I've found her very informatiive. If it helps her number is 860-3632 and the address is- 202-100 Marie Curie Priv. near Ottawa University.

    hope that helps

I am seeing this doctor as well. She is very imformative on many things but PCOS isn't one of her specialities. She's a great doctor mind you. I discuss all sorts of PCOS books with her. Last time I saw her she was really researching this syndrome. I believe she concentrates more on diabeties than PCOS and because so many of her patients were refered to her because of insuline resistance, she decided to finally do her in depth research.

That being said, my apointments with her have always been short and sweet. Just the way I like it. I do recommend her as well

Unhappy Desperate for help... so lost and confused :i_worried

    Hello everyone

I am 18 years old, turinng 19 in March, I live in Ottawa and I believe I may have PCOS. I started out searching about one of the symptoms independently, whichthen led me to find out about PCOS which I otherwise had no idea about. As I read the symptoms, I realized that I had most of them, and I decided to continue researching and finding out more information. I feel deep in my heart and soul that I have it, even though I wish it's not true or that it turns out to be something minor that can be cured. I have not been diagnosed yet but I want to find out as soon as possible if I may have PCOS but I don't know where to begin. I'm so lost and I truly don't even know what my first step should be.

As for a doctor I'm seing a gyn, Dr. Nancy Fleming, she's now at what use to be the Riverside Hospital. On the 7th floor, for the women's clinic. As anyone been there since it opened not so long ago? It's wonderful! There's it's all about women problem, either it's pregnancy, PCOS, a regular gyn appointment, everything that as to do with us women, they treat it! It's amazing!
