Default I just tripped and fell.....is the baby going to be ok?????

I was walking with my laptop out of my bedroom and caught my foot on my bf's sweatshirt that he left on the floor. I fell pretty hard onto my knee and side.

I feel fine except for a severly wounded pride, twisted ankle and scraped knee.

Do I need to go to the ER or my doc??

At 10 weeks, I'm sure you're fine but I would still call your OBs office and let them know. I think falling is more of an issue later in pregnancy than it is in the first trimester. I got the "careful on the ice" conversation at 20 weeks and was told to call if I fell then.

At 10 weeks your baby is so well cushioned in there it's almost impossible to do any damage by falling. Since you're feeling okay I'm sure it's fine and if it were me I probably wouldn't call and definitely wouldn't bother with the ER, but do call your doctor if you need the added reassurance.

I would think that the baby is fine...they are so cushioned at this point... I would call your OB to let them know what happened, and if you want to be checked tell them you want to come in just to be safe...

Oh yes you're totally fine. Your baby is so tiny at 10 weeks and your uterus is still very small and tucked in behind your pubic bone, so there is no way you could do any damage. I was hit in the abdomen by a speeding motorcyle at like 8-9 weeks and my baby is perfect!!

I agree with the PP, it becomes more dangerous in the later weeks when your uterus has risen out of your pelvic area and you're showing, so you don't have the protection of your pelvis. Don't worry - the lil one will be ok!

Even in the last month of your pregnancy, your body is designed to protect your baby. I fell off the porch with Evie when I had 3-4 weeks left and she was perfectly fine. I made sure she was kicking and I didn't even need to go into the OB's office.

My Mom fell down an entire flight of steps during one of my sister's pregnancies. I was at the bottom of the steps (I was 10). It was a bad fall, and she did have to have an ultrasound done, but everything was fine.

Thanks everyone!!!

I am merely suffering from some scrapes but otherwise I am fine. I called my doc but had to leave a message and still no call back so I assume she is thinking I am fine.
