Default I keep bleeding?!!

Hi everyone! I am in the middle of my third misscarriage. My first two were chemical before I had my first child. This pregnancy happened without us trying to get pregnant which was shocking because we used Gonadatropin injectables for both of my children.

Anyway I have been bleeding off and on mostly on for 27 days!! I have been to the OB three times. My HCG stayed the same for a least a week and then it dropped down and then actually went back up. I had an ultrasound and there was nothing in my tubes or Uterus . They said we should wait it out, and wanted to see me again.

Has anyone had this happed where it seemed to gone on forever? I am tired an just want this to be over.

Thanks
Liz

Sorry for your loss. Just wanted to say that I had spotting (not enough to get on a pad) for about a week to 10 days before the actual m/c and then bled for another week after. So about 17 days or so. The spotting occurred while the beta stayed the same, with a slight increase actually, and I didn't bleed until the big beta drop (7000+ to 160+). If you don't have anything in your uterus or tubes, did they measure the thickness of your lining? Hope you get some answers soon

With my first m/c I spotted for a week, then started the heavy bleeding and bled for about 10 days, so 17 days roughly for me too. And my spotting was when my hcg did rise a bit, and then started to fall.

Are they checking your hcg to keep tabs on whether it's going down or not?? I know every woman is different and maybe your lining was really thick!

With my last m/c I bled for months. I wasn't even that far along - 8 weeks or so. I used cytotec to induce it but never saw anything pregnancy related pass - the ultrasound showed things were empty but I know I hadn't seen anything pass! It was some weeks after being told it was all out that I passed what I think was a placenta... and I continued to bleed past then. Not heavy, and not all the time, but it was annoying.

Finally around 3 months later I had horrible cramps and passed a clot the size of a baseball... and things finally began to resolve then.

In retrospect maybe a D&C would have been better than cytotec for me - I don't know if that is an option for you or not.

Abany,

I would keep in close contact with your dr. I don't think that bleeding that long is normal, but everyone is different.

My only real advice is that if you don't think you are getting the answers from your dr. that you need then DEFINATELY seek a 2nd opinion.

Only you know what is right for your body, and if this worries you then you have every right to get a second opinion.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and the fact that it has been going on so long. For me the worst part of the MC was that it seemed to go on forever and I just needed it to be over so I could get some sort of normalcy back to my life.

With my m/c, I bled for two months, not heavy. I'm sorry you are going through this, I hope it stops soon for you.

Thanks for getting back to me everyone I spoke to my Drs office today and my HCG numbers are at 66 three weeks into this so I have to have more bloodwork done on monday and then see my OB on Tuesday to see what we want to do.

What's sad is my husband really doesn't want a third, I was planning on losing some weight and then we said we would talk about trying in the Spring. Then I found out I was pregnant and was so excited to not have to talk my husband into it, not to have to pay a fortune in copays and go thru fertility treatments and didn't have to stress about losing the weight. I just reread this paragraph and I sound totally selfish. My whole family thinks it's crazy for us to have another because of money and we had to have a reduction from triplets to a singleton with my last pregnancy. My blood pressure goes way up and we had very low amniotic fluid with my first so my RE told me three babies were not even an option. We planned on twins until we saw the man who would do the reduction. He was head of the OB dept. at a hospital in Boston he told me I stood a good chance of losing all of the babies and the safest bet was to reduce to one. It was a very hard decision but we ended up with a perfect little girl. Wow I am off on a tangent sorry ladies.

Again thanks everyone for the information and Hugs

Oh honey I know exactly EXACTLY how you feel. Altho my dh was on board with trying again, when we got pregnant in september it was on our own, no fertility meds, LAST month before we were going to go back to our RE! We were both ecstatic!! And then we lost it, a week after we found out, and it's devastating! All of a sudden we're back to square one, and what do you do?? Do you risk trying again without being monitored and risk another loss? Do you suck it up and pay the money for the RE??

For us, we went back to the RE, did everything right, took all the meds to ward off m/c.....and here I am, we lost another baby. Heartbreaking and devastating doesn't begin to describe it.

But you know, if you truly want another baby, you know in your heart how far you are willing to go to get it. For us, we are going back to our RE tuesday to start the process again. Not sure how long he'll want us to wait before actually trying, but we're both ready and willing to do this for the long haul if that's what it takes. You and your dh, when you are READY to, will have to decide how far you want to go to get your third beautiful baby!

I discovered that I was pregnant on Fathers Day of 2007 that I was pregnant. At the time, Me and DH was taking care of my Grandmother (The 1 to the right in the avatar) She was an alzheimer's Patient. She passed 7/14/2007. I miscarried the very next day. My bleeding started on June 30th and it was very light, I had no pain at all with light bleeding the whole time and finally passed a clot the size of a 50 cent peice, so in my honest opinion, Every Miscarriage is different.

I am sorry to hear about your reduction. I am still reeling from mine - not something I hope to ever go through again.

Do you think you will have any problems with TTC again because of that in your history?? I am wondering if/when we try again if we should go right to ivf or of there might be a way to do injectables without my ovaries going into over-performance mode. If I were to get pregnant with triplets again I would not reduce and worry that that combined with my over-response would make most doctors run. Of course I could lie and say I am open to reduction but if they asked for my records they'd see what a mess I am because of the reduction and figure I was lying.

Of course if your triplets were a surprise and you are not an over-responder you wouldn't know the answer to any of this.

Anyway I don't see the selfish part in your post. Nothing wrong with wanting to skip treatments and not have to lose weight. Losing weight may boost your chances, though... but so may this miscarriage. Who knows, maybe you will get lucky and have a good ovulation after this!!! It's good to hear your betas are dropping. Mine were sill in the 300s after 2 months or something... you will probably not bleed as long as I did. And once they are zero... maybe you'll get lucky.

With my m/c in June 2007 I bled for at least a month and went in for weekly bloodwork. It took about 2 months for my bloodwork to return to normal. It was a huge pain in the a$$.

I am so sorry for your loss.
