I don't have experience with rosacea, but I do know your frustration about covering up skin probems. I had a horrible reaction to using a certain brand of makeup, and basically ended up with checmical burns on my cheecks that took MONTHS to heal. I didn't feel like it was professional for me to go without makeup, so I tried to cover the best that I could. Because my skin hurt too much for full coverage makeup, I used a concealer in areas where I needed the extra help (green works well for redness), used a foundation one shade darken than I normally wear, and then I worked a little magic with blush. I got an estee lauder poweder blush that exactly matched the color of the lessions on my cheeks. In addition to blending the color into the cheeks, I also dabbed the color lighly on my nose, my chin, my jaw line, under my chin and at my temples. This gave me an all over "rudy" look that deccentuated the bad skin on my cheeks. I did not look like a clown because the color matched what my skin would be if I pinched it, and because the blush was so soft looking--that is the key. Granted, it did not completely cover the unevenness of my skin, but it did make the reddness less noticeable to other people. Everybody I asked said that I that they would not have noticed the other if I hadn't brought it to their attention. I would also say use matte products, because anything with shine or sparkles will accentuate imprefections, while matteness tends to make them look smoother or softer.
Maybe someone else can recommend a good full coverage foundation? |
