ok so do you take the met while your eating or after you are done , or is there a difference? Also what about spacing the met apart , if I take 1 at 9am with breakfast then 1 at around noon with lunch and 1 at around 5 , is that ok ? ahhhhhh so confused , I know I am asking alot of questions , but i'm new and havent found these answers through research , so thank you soooooooo much for the help!

I take mine while I am eating and I was told by my RE that I can take one in the morning then another at bedtime. I take 2 750mg of gluch. or I can take 2 at bedtime because I have been really sick on this. I have only been on it 3 mths now. HTH

Hon, it's normal to have questions and good that you are asking.

I take a few bites of food to get the food in my stomach and then take my pill. Your timing sounds great.

There is info on dosing etc on a "Frequently asked questions" (FAQ) thread at the top of the Met page. Definetly read it...lots of questions that people have starting met are on there and it might help ease your mind.

'08: Duathlon and another half?

Hi There

I was on metformin ages ago and had to stop taking it because my body just couldn't tolerate it - every disgusting side effect i experienced with my body i tell ya!

But my dr has just put me on it again, and i've increased my dosage by 1/2 a tablet every week (i'm now on 3 tablets my maximum dosage), and i haven't experienced anything.

Another thing that i have also been doing differently is cutting the tablets in half, so at different intervals while i'm eating, i take half a tablet (eg at breakfast, after 4 mouthfuls half a tablet, then another 4 mouthfuls another half).

I also don't ever mix my medications, i always seperate having them with food or fluid just incase i get sick.
