I just had to take a moment to sing the praises of metformin. I have been on it since February, and in April I had to take prometrium to make my period start. Well, now it is July, and I just started my 3rd, yes, that's right, THIRD drug-free period since. I have not had 3 normal periods since 1999! I have lost 13 pounds, which is more than I have managed to lose in 4 years, and that is just by watching sugar, not even really low carbing, and with very little exercise. PLUS, when I have been low carbing, it is MUCH easier, the sugar cravings are not nearly as bad as thy have been on the past. I have had some side effects, but to be honest, it is totally worth it! May I repeat I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!
Oh, and did I mention my acne and facial hair have improved too?

Way to go, Denise! There are several of us who are just as passionate about the stuff.... Exercise and low carbing make Met work even better!

Yay Denise, good for you! I love my Met too, and I am so grateful it was ever invented. It's done a lot of good things for me as well, like bring AF back, reduce my ever-present hunger and carb-cravings, and help me lose weight. I agree with Christy though (as usual, he he), if you try to add low-carbing and exercising, you'll be even more amazed about what Met can do for you.
Keep up the good work.

It cleared my brain fog, brought back af, helped me lose weight, made me o' again, and helped me get pregnant. My first Metformin miracle is now 3 years old, my second (surprise one) arrived December11! To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 0 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I'm always thrilled to see yet another success story with met...proof positive that we can see results equal to our efforts, given time and the right tools. Way to go!

I also agree. I love my Met. Another one that helps with sweets craving is Wellbutrin. I take 300 mg per day due to Depression/Anxiety. I am sure it has to do with this stupid PCOS crap that we all have to deal with. But I really think these 2 together are wonderful!!!
