Okay, here is my opinion....... take it or leave it and please don't get offended by it. These are MY personal views.
First of all: I know that you will hear one hundred-thousand times to wait until you are married. Okay, I agree with this COMPLETELY. Did I do it? No. Do I wish I would have? ABSOLUTELY There are SO many std's and etc going around that it is just a blessing that I didn't end up with one. You don't know who you can trust and who you cannot. Plus, if you wait until you are married and only have one partner, you will not worry about who is bigger, better, or etc. These things can lead to affairs and they just end your relationship. Please, if you do have sex, regardless of what the guy says or how much you trust him, USE PROTECTION!!! You are protecting yourself! You are the only one that can ensure your well-being.
Second: Having sex make you gain weight? Not that I have ever heard. I have heard stories of it making your hips wider and etc. but I honestly believe that it is the consequences of having sex that can make you gain weight (i.e. having a baby!). If you need to gain weight (wish that were my problem) go buy yourself a box of candy bars and 6 bags of chips. Don't have sex to make you gain weight. I am not doctor but that is the most absurd thing I have ever heard.
Three: Having sex before the pill or while on it to keep from getting pregnant? Honey, maybe I am misunderstanding the question and I hope I am. If it were safer to have sex off of the pill and not get pregnant, there would be no such thing as the pill. Most doctors (in my experiences) have said that you should wait at least 30 days while on the pill before unprotected sex. I would say, just for protection and added security, that you should follow that advice AND use condoms. Men and boys can seem very trustworthy and very sincere. DO NOT trust anyone to keep you safe. What if he doesn't know that he has an STD? And by all means, do not trust the "I have been having sex for years and have never gotten anyone pregnant" BS!
I have a sister that is 16 and I am telling you exactly what I would tell her. I don't know you but want nothing out of life but the best for you. You deserve to have a happy and productive life. Getting an std or having a baby at 16 could be harmful to your successes. Please, please, please believe that you ARE WORTH PROTECTING!!! You are someone and do not need sex nor any man to make you special. God made you special! Live to your full potential and have a great life sweetie!
