We have no idea when we will travel to China to get Emily. We had thought at the time of referral (4 1/2 weeks ago) that we could be there by Christmas or New Year's.
Well, here we sit with no travel approval (TA), which means no US Consulate appointment. We are seeing other agencies get their TAs and traveling shortly even after their referral acceptances were returned to China after ours.
I don't know what is taking so long and I've been trying to be positive about this, but it's starting to drain me. Now our agency said we still may travel the first week of January (which is PERFECT), but not to be upset if we don't go till the END of January! Our agency reports nothing is wrong, it's just taking longer.
The Chinese New Year starts on January 22nd this year and goes for about 2 weeks. Many government offices and most of China shuts down for this celebration--how on earth could we travel at the end of January!
My little baby will be 10 1/2 months, possibly nearing 11 months when I finally see her and I can't wait. BUT if one more person asks me when I am traveling I may pop a blood vessel. UGH!!!
Nothing anyone is saying is any consolation. The only thing that'll help is hearing word of when I can go hold my baby!!! Sorry for whining......just having a rough end to this week!

Oh Lisa... I won't say anything as I know I don't have the right words (in fact, I know that the right words probably do not exist).... how about I just give you some ((((((hugs)))))....hang in there...

Unfortunately bugging the agency gets me nothing but being on their bad side--which I don't want to be! It's out of their hands right now!

I remember being in your shoes and it SUCKS with a capitol "S"
There IS nothing anyone can say or do that will make you feel better until you get the phone call, hang in there and maybe just turn off the phone and doorbell for a few days (over the weekend) if you have no plans and play boardgames with Jess and DH and make it all about you !
Either that or go to the busiest mall for a pack of gum ! That should make some time fly by

OK....the most recent word is that our TAs were mailed on Thursday night and are expected at our agency on Monday.
So...we are on pins & needles because if it is received on Monday the office only has ONE day to get Consulate Appointments because they are closed for Christmas in China.
I sent an email to my family & friends asking for positive thinking and prayers. I know I can count on all of you to do the same!!
Fingers crossed and hands folded for MONDAY's WORD!!!!

Oh, sweetie, I can't WAIT to hear your news and travel date. So sorry you've been strung out on this. This truly is the HARDEST part of the wait. Definitely prayers your way.
