    Default I'm another thin cyster

First of all, I want to say how happy I am that I found this site. After getting off bcp in Aug 2004 and TTC #1, I found out that I do not have periods. I have done 3 rounds of Clomid.
    1st 50 mg Ovulation
    2nd 50 mg No ovulation
    3rd 100 mg Ovulation
We then found out that my husband had poor morphology and after 2 SAs he went to a urologist. We were then referred to an RE and my first appt is Thursday Nov 17th!!! I'm so excited. My OBGYN suspicions PCOS, but I do not have a lot of the classic symptoms. I'm about 5'2" and weigh 112 lbs. .if anything Ihave had trouble keeping weight on in the past. I think being thin in today's society is looked at as being abnormal. .being thin with PCOS is even MORE abnormal. I do have mild acne and some unwanted hair in a few places. When I do gain weight, it is all in my abdomen. I do not know if I am IR. I've been temperature charting since May and that has really helped me feel like I understand my body a little better. I'm so frustrated and I hope I find some answers. I've been doing yoga and have started eating low carbs, but people look at me funny when I pass on certain foods. I'm not trying to lose weight. . I just want to ovulate!!! Anyway, I just wanted to say hello. It's so nice to know that I am not alone. Any advice on what to expect at my first RE appt would be appreciated.

Hi! I did go to my RE appt today and I have to say that it has been a good day. I did get the official PCOS diagnosis (w/ anovulation, high LH levels, excess hair on abdomen and "string of pearl" cysts on my ovaries on ultrasound. My RE seems optimistic and was very personable and knowledgeable. I take Provera to have a period. He is putting me on Femara and I go in on cd 12 for another ultrasound. Then, I'll give myself a trigger shot and say a lot of prayers. He mentioned metformin, but we're going to try this first. I sure hope it works. I'm glad that he stated there are 2 groups of women with PCOS. Those who are overweight and those that are thin. I feel really good about actually having a formal diagnosis and moving forward. Does anyone have any success stories with Femara and trigger shot??

I was doing clomid with a trigger and have tried many many rounds. No success with me. Now I am on Metformin and am waiting to see if it work s and I think it just might cause I have been feeling tingles and twitches like i would before or after ovulation. If your mixture does nto work I say get on Met as soon as you can. I sure wish I had. Read in the met website as well there is an article about how much better Met. is compared to clomid in thin PCOSs(i know you are on fermara, but it is a fertility drug just the same). Plus it is supposed to help with miscarriage. Just my 2 cents

Hi, I am so happy to have found this site! On my 1st appt (11/17/05), u/s showed polycystic ovaries. Did all the blood tests and HSG, everything was normal. On 2nd appt (12/28/05), dr said I was borderline IR. I have lost 6lbs since 11/17 thru very strict low carb diet and exercise regimen. Dr still wanted me to go on Metformin. Started Met last night. I am supposed to start taking Clomid on day 3. Then come in when I see LH surge. Keeping my fingers crossed that it would work this time. We really really want a little one!
