Default I'm blue

Why is it that people think they have carte blanche to say whatever they want regardless of your feelings? I had a patient today - a patient no less - ask me today WHY I WAS OVERWEIGHT? WTF! She doesn't know me or anything about me. The thing is for the past two to three weeks it seems that whenever anyone is talking to me they have to throw in a dig about how mush weight I have gained since I got married. It is starting to take its toll on me. I am usually very comfortable with myself. But I have been battling my weight since I was 15.....I have joined WW ..... again.....

I just felt like I had to spout it and I figured that someone would understand me here better than anyone else.........I am just so close to tears right now........

Some people tend to be very tactless.
I've had people aske me questions like that before...I know how you felt.
I'm glad you've joined WW again...that's been one of the best programs for me..Hang in there cysta!

I know what you mean. I ran into a friend from school and she exclaims "Girl, you have gained a LOT of weight. What happened??" I thought I would die. Then everyone has to tell you what they think you should do to lose it.

people are so cruel
i remember as a child of about 10 on holiday some local came up to me (drunk) and asked me why i was so fat. my mother was with me at the time, which made it seem so incredible that someone could be so senseless.
there are way too many incidents that i and others have gone through when the smallest of words cause the greatest of harm. i guess its fuel to fight. i know it sucks and really hurts but if it gives you that extra shred of motivation to stick to WW then something good has come from it.
take care and good luck.

When I first started gaining weight (when I was about 21), my SIL said to me "You're getting fat! You're not pregnant, are you?"

Then about a year and a half later, at my grandmother's funeral, my ex-boyfriend's mom (who was friends with my sister at the time) showed up. She said hi to me, and then I heard her say to my sister "Wow, she really HAS gained weight."

People can be really rude and insensitive sometimes.

People tend to say mean things about others when in fact they really just hate themselves! YKWIM?

Thanks so much. People can be so mean sometimes...and what gets me is when they say "Can I say something but it might upset you or make you miserable" THEN DON'T SAY IT!

I am feeling better....I talked with my best friend (my husband) and I felt much better. I also joined the WW program and I am going to do it so that I wont feel like that anymore
