Default I'm from Canada, Can you recommend an agency in the US

I live in Canada and my DH and I are preparing to adopt internationally from the U.S. We are in the process of researching agencies within the U.S. to work with us.

If you have had a good experience with a particular agency I would love to hear about them!!

Thanks

Hi there,

We have not adopted before so I don't have any experiences to share. You can either adopt within Canada which is called domestic or you can go Internationally. All adoptions in Canada are open meaning there is some obligation to stay in contact with the birth mom. We are pretty certain we want to do an international adoption and have chosen the U.S. The reason we have chosen this is because from what we have been told the process is quicker. The only thing is we need to be open to adopting an African American child which we are.

I'm not sure if any of this info helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions. We are only in the process of filling out the application form and getting all our paperwork together. I have spent hours researching all of this though and still feel like I have alot to learn. It is overwhelming.
Good luck!
