Default I'm desperate!

I was on Met 500 mg/ day, and I take the pills in the evening. Today I started upping the dosage, so I took a 5 00 mg pill with breakfast, and I'll take another with dinner.

Sorry, TMI - I've had nasty diareah 3 times in the last hour, and I am getting desperate. Is it okay to take Immodium AD with Met? To top things off, I have my first RE appointment today, and I don't know if he's going to want to do an exam on me. I'm so gross down there, I can't bear the idea of somebody looking at it.

I found diet to be a HUGE part of my problem. I had side effects for over abyear until I started eating to control my insulin. They literally stopped overnight when I did.

So if you aren't already, be mindful of what you eat. High carb or high fat or greasy foods tend to make things really bad. It will really help to eat to keep your sugars as stable as you can and keep from counter-acting the drug.

Feel better - hope it helps!

So sorry to hear of your diarrehea. You have to remember that Met is changing your entire hormonal biochemical make-up. With this being true, doctors highly reccomend you follow a strict low carb diet in the intial phase of Met (especially when you increase your does).

Carbs & Met dont mix at first -- but I been told it does get better over time. Make sure you take your Met with a high protein, low carb meal. Lots of water & no sugary sodas or juices.

Also, you might want to talk to your provider about the Met XR (Extended Release) Formula. The regular Met has a 50% diarrehea/nausea rate while the Met XR only has about a 10% diarrehea/nausea rate.
Hope this helps
