Default I'm devastated...SA results +PCOS = not good

Ladies,
I'm so shocked, but also very devasted. My husband had his SA today, and we expected him to have stellar results as he's in excellent health. The results came back as 1.9 mil concentration, low motility, and 0% morphology. Not good at all. On top of that is my PCOS. Will we EVER have a child????!!!! I made an appointment for him to see a urologist, but is there any doctor who could treat both of us??? I'm so shocked right now. Help!

hiya,

never give up hope is the first thing i will say .
does your husband take vitamins? i know and have heard that zinc is good for the sperm in most of the aspects. put him in loose boxers, cool baths thats all i know to do to help.

pcos doesnt stop u from having children, just makes it a bit more difficult.
im sure you will get pregnant have you tried IUI. that might work for you as ots just inserted striaght into your womb i think.
hope this helps.

Please come join us on the Buddies thread-the male factor thread. Everyone will be able to explain more to you...my DH and I have pcos and MF...and Ive een pregnant twice. Youll need more help...but yes get some vitamins, and cut out some things as much as he can........we use Fertilaid vitamins. We used to get counts(post wash) of under one million and then we started getting 4 million post wash....sometimes 2 million and yes this cycle one million. But I believe in vitamins!!!

I agree with the PPs - it is still very possible for you to conceive! I know it is very devastating news to receive (I was bed-ridden for 2 days because I was told we wouldn't be able to conceive naturally) and we thought my DH would be fine as he's only 27 and in very good health. The OB we saw gave us a very grim outlook - BUT we conceived about a month later!

I would suggest you see a urologist for DH and keep seeing your doctor. Also, see if you can get DH onto some men's vitamins. I would also recommend trying Preseed, it can help things out if the sperm have problems of their own.

Good luck, and God bless.

my heart goes out to you, it's a bit of a double whammy isnt it!
IUI pops into mind straight away, and also the other things mentioned like the male vitiman supplements.
My husband is in the same boat, but thats from having a vas reversal.
Best of luck xx

My hubby had a result of just over 1 Million from his first SA. My dr. recommended a urologist who prescribed that he take 25MG of clomid every day. Three months later his count was up to 20 Million. The Urologist told him to continue taking it for three more months and then SA again. We have two months left until we get the next result. It has really been amazing. Of course, no bfp yet, but it is still an improvement. I just wanted to throw that it. I don't think that many people realize that clomid can help guys too.
