there is no fat. it is fluffy, or plump, or huggible. it is ok to have craveings, i know for a fact everyone gets them. most of the time it just means you need something in your body.

me too. I must make a suggestion...pick up the book "Fat Girls Guide to Life" by Wendy Shanker. It changed my view of how I feel about myself in all my fatness...lol. But ((((hugs)))) to you sister...I know how you feel...

I'm not even really 'fat.' I'm about 25 lbs over my natural weight. I think I'd be fine with being a larger woman if I were really a larger woman. But I'm not large, my natural weight puts me at about a size 8 (now I'm a 10 or 12, and this has occurred in the last couple months), and right now I'm carrying around too many pounds. I'm just at an unhealthy weight and I don't feel good about myself. And I can't make myself stop eating... if I have a craving, I can't function. I will literally go to the store if I don't have whatever it is I'm craving in my house... and I've been craving foods I don't even normally eat! And no matter how many hours I log in the gym, I can't lose weight, b/c I'm taking in too many calories. My hormones are going wild lately. I feel like crap. Normally I just don't care that much about food... lately all I want to do is eat. It sucks.

I'd look closely at what you're eating, especially what you're craving. Many cysters find that they don't respond well to carbs. I know that if I have too much carbohyrdrate (i.e. more than 30 g at one time), I'm likely to get an insulin 'spike' followed by a real trough - which sends a message to my brain that we need more of the buzz, so bring on the carbs. If I give in to that 'craving', I'll go round the loop again.
Solution: only eat small amounts of carbohydrate at one time, and balance with protein. So if you have to give in to the craving, only eat a tiny portion, then distract yourself with something else. I find knitting handy - it's hard to pick up food with a knitting needle in either hand. LOL. OTOH, I find that when I'm studying, or trying to write to a deadline, I'm likely to become totally food obsessed. Of course, the combined stress of all that sends my cortisol levels through the roof, which messes with my insulin levels, which means I crave....
Hang in there, it's a long battle, and we win it with one tiny victory at a time.

Starfish- Are you on any meds for PCOS at all? I found that I had terrible sugar cravings before I was on met/gluc. (I would "sleep-eat" meaning I would wake up with a melted Klondike bar stuck to the side of my face..the doc. accounted this to my blood sugar getting so low during the night my body would try to correct itself.) Also, can you pinpoint any stress in your life? Sometimes the urge to overeat comes from stessors. I also found that overeating is a vicious cycle and its not your fault!(you eat alot, you feel bad, then you eat some more, and feel bad, it goes over and over again.) Just remember that. I would suggest, if you could, speak to your doctor about this. There could be alot of reasons why you are overeating, especially PCOS. Remember we are here for you!

I'm not on any PCOS meds at all. I try to largely eat proteins and stick to complex carbs but, like disintegration said, I'm majorly craving sugar. I quit smoking a couple weeks ago (I'm an on-again off-again smoker and I'm off right now) and that makes it worse too.
I get food-obsessed when I'm studying too. Which is all I do...
