I know that this has been asked a million times, but I just need to ask it myself and get your feedback...my hair has thinned out so much on the temples...I always had thick hair and now, I can see through to my scalp. Does this mean i am destined to be bald???? will all of it fall out like it does on men? OMG...I am sooo upset right now. My dr has me on spiro, but I think it's too low a dose..only 25mg a day. I go next week to him to take more blood work to see if the testosterone levels are lower, and i am going to ask him to up the dosage. I am reading so many things on this and remedies and I am just overwhelmed...don't know what to do or where to start. please, any advice is welcomed...thank you in advance!

Different people react differently to medications and for some people a lower dose is all that is needed. Even at a only 25mg a day it will be having some effect so at the very least you should be losing less hair or staying the same.
Your doctor may want to increase your dose gradually because some people have problems with Spiro, particularly if they are taking other medications with it like metformin. You also need to take it for a while before you see any result from it.
Although Spiro had some effect for me at a lower dose, I didn't notice a dramatic improvement until I was put on 200mg per day. After about six weeks I didn't have to shave as frequently, I had less acne, my AN had gotten lighter, and though I don't think I've got any new hair on my head, what I have left feels much thicker and looks healthier. My hairdresser even commented on it, so I don't think I'm imagining it.

I'm really sorry about your hair loss, I know how scary that is. I take 100 mg of spironolactone twice a day, so your 25 mg. sounds so low compared to my 200mg.
Maybe the doctor will think it's appropriate to raise your dose. Let us know how things turn out, ok? Best of luck!!!!!
(Also, Saw Palmetto extract is a natural androgen inhibitor. Google it and see what you think. Good luck!)
