Smile I'm getting a hair transplant!

On April 23 in Toronto, I'm getting a hair transplant . I'm going to be 30 this year and decided to do something nice for myself for a change. Especially since my hairloss which is mostly at the front/top part of my head really bothers me. I use and will continue to use rogaine even after my surgery. It takes approx. 2 to 6 months for the new transplanted hairs to grow. I figure by my birthday in Aug. I should be seeing some results and by Christmas hopefully I'll see a big change. I'm really excited and a bit nervous as the loss will probably get worse for a bit after the surgery as the hair that I do have will go into shock and fall out. The transplanted hairs are taken from a stripe they remove from the back of my head. They will never fall out as they are not affected by excess androgens.

The cost for this procedure is $4500. I honestly thought it would be much more. I used some of my mutual funds to pay for it. I feel it's completely worth every penny.

In anyone is interested I'll keep ya posted during the process. Don't have a computer at home so I won't be able to post during my week off for the surgery.

Hope all goes well! I used to work for a Dr. that did hair transplants. It was amazing to see the person after the hair started growing in. Good luck!

Will be interested to hear how it all goes. Good luck for it! I opted for the Martin Malloy integrated hair technique method. My hair was so sparse on top as you'll see on another thread here, but now I have a head of hair which is great. So good that between the different techniques something can be done for us.

How did that go? I am considering it but I am not sure if it would work for me...

All the very best. It will definitely work. You will get new hair but the only issue can be that they can fall again due to hormonal imbalance. But lets keep our fingers crosses and hope that does not happen
