Smile I'm in ice cream heaven !!

I just finished a bowl of Edy's Grand Light ice cream (Chocolate Chip) and it was amazing. It does have 16g of Carbs, but it is easy to balance out on the IR diet. I haven't let myself cheat, and this is a great way to have something sweet. I definitely recommend it.

Default ice cream?

What did you balance the ice cream with? I'm sorta new to the IR Diet thing! Thanks - Amy

Default Balancing

I had a high protein dinner (Salmon filet and green beans) and just had the ice cream with my dinner. An idea I have had is to blend the ice cream with milk and make a milkshake. The most common thing that I balance with is string cheese (part skim so that it is low fat.) Happy balancing.

I'm going to have to try that - I've seen it at the local grocery store, but wasn't sure if it was really good.

Thanks for the post!

I haven't tried that brand, but for a while I was eating the Bryer's all natural (black container) vanilla. I think it had 14g or carbs in it. I would also take into account the protein in it.
If I was having it for dessert I would just have a high protein meal with no carbs. If it was for a snack I would have a smaller portion with melted peanut butter (Kraft's no sugar added) and some flax seeds on top.
Yummy!

Bryers and Edys are the same. One is found in the west, and the other in the east. When I moved from Michigan to Maine I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find Bryers ice cream anywhere!

Cool milkshakes

Just a suggestion, if you're making a milkshake, drop in some protein powder and kick up the protein intake! Then invite me over and I'll have one too!
