hey girls i'm extremely interested in buying the p90x dvds - i just had a few questions about it... i need to loose 30lbs
and i'm willing to work really hard - does it help with weight loss - almost all my weight in my belly .. yay - u know how that feels
typically how long does it take to come in the mail?
what should i expect?
should i follow the diet that comes with it? or should i follow another diet like the insulin resistance diet - that everyone is raving about...

P90X is great and I really recommend it to anyone who is already reasonably fit and willing to work hard.
The diet that it comes with is really good and it will make you loose weight if you follow it very strictly. I have some other dietary concerns that are a result of something other than PCOS so I haven't followed it that much.... the biggest thing I have found with it is eating enough calories not to crash during the workouts but still running at enough of a defecit to loose the pounds.
The workouts are great and you will put on some muscle for sure... they are a total body workout and you will be amazed at how much progress you make over the 90 days.
When I ordered it last year it came in about at week or two but I live in Canada.
Currently I am on day 55, but I have been battling a nasty cold / flu for the past few weeks so my workouts have not been regular.

Thanks this is great information! I have been thinking about purchasing P90X for a few months. I have quite a bit of weight to lose before we start TTC and easily talk myself out of going to the gym. Very encouraging!
well done on your weightloss girls! i also have the belly fat which is so damn depressin!! i cant seem to find the motivation to keep going to the gym, i was going everyday but wasnt seeing any weightloss so it got me down and i guess i gave up! what sort of diet is it that you follow??
I too have a ton of belly fat (even cellulite) that's just really huge. I look pregnant and don't have much of a waist.
Do you mind posting what exactly is your work out regimine? and How many carbs do you limit yourself to everyday? and what are "good" foods to snack on? what are your stable dinner dishes?

that would be great if you could post that! ive had a few comments from family telling me i look pregnant too its really depressing!! i think ive put on about 5kg in 3-4 weeks, i dont eat badly and i try to exercise its just not doing anything :'(

After reading on this site so many times about weight training AND cardio instead of just cardio, I started to take it seriously and since I've started weight training, I've lost 7" off my waist! I've gone from 150 to 133. At first, I was losing weight, but my clothes looked awful on me because I wasn't losing around the middle, but now since I'm weight training and following a low carb diet, my belly is melting away!
ROCK ON!! I'm so glad that cysters are really taking the advice here that cardio AND strength are the way to go.

Honestly, as long as it's OK'd by your doc and it's HEALTHY FOR YOU, then that's all that matters and the unsupportive people can shove it. There will always be supportive people around cheering you on and that's the key!
