    Default I'm new

Hi, I was diagnosed about 3 months ago, and I'm only 19. I've got so many questions I don't even know where to start. I guess the most important one is can I have children? I think it's pretty messed up that someone who wants kids as much as I do is told that they most likely will not be able to. I want more opinions. Please, someone enlighten me.

    Default Welcome...

There is so much information on this website..that will fill you in on everything you need to know!! I can not give you a difinative answer about having children ...but PCOS women do. I did. I had 6 years of infertility...took Clomid for 5 months...go pregnant 8 months after I stopped the Clomid. Some women have twins with Clomid, some get pregnant on Clomid and other get pregnant after they stop Clomid. To say the least...we are all different. I have not had a natural period ion over 10 years, and I still was able to get pregnant. THe only way I get a period is with Provera. I have only taken Provera...maybe 5 times in 10 years. Bottom line...miracles do happen. I know there are times when it does not work out, but these cysters turn to fostering or adopting. There are some fantastic adoption stories here!! I wish you all the best and feel free to ask us all your questions. That's what we are here for. Once again..welcome and we are so happy to have you!!

    Hi there, welcome to SC.

You only have to take a look at the Pregnant Cysters and Mommy Boards to see that it is not impossible to conceive with PCOS. I read recently that while it may take the 'average' non PCOSer 9 months to conceive, it would take the 'average' PCOSer 2 years to conceive.

But as the other cysters said, everyone is different - I forced myself not to worry about how hard getting pg may / may not be until the time was right. Even tho we are TTC now, it is earlier than I thought it would be. We are not being that 'agressive' about it either as there is no real hurry so to speak.

Anyway, if you have questions, you have come to the right place. Everyone here is very helpful and positive so stick around & you are sure to learn a lot.

    cheers
    Brooke
