Hello just introducing myself before I post anywhere else.
I'm Magda and I think I might have PCOS. I'm not sure yet. A few of my friends that are nurses say that there is a good chance, but unfortunately due to where I live and that fact that I have no insurance despite working in a hospital, I can't see a doctor and be diagnosed.
So hopefully I can find some help here.

From what I hear they used to provide everyone with the same coverage, now you have to work more than 21 hours to be considered part time. So since my hired hours were 16 I'm screwed. Luckily my daughter got her insurance from the state. Still waiting on mine.
There is a clinic across the street, but I tried to get in there when I was pregnant, it took me 2 months to get in where someone knew what they were doing. No one had a clue what was going on, they kept sending me back and forth. I was so angry. From what my co workers are saying, I'm better off going into the city where it's more expensive because there they actually are knowledgeable. Its sad that because I live in a poor neighborhood I have to be treated like scum and that me and everyone in this area has to suffer with sub par service and doctors.

Hi, and welcome to SC!! I agree, that should be a crime - they can't even check you out under the table!? Geesh...everything in this world is about money.
I hope here, at least, you'll be able to piece together some answers. This is a great board with a bunch of even greater women who are willing to offer advice, or just lend an ear.
