Angry I'm new here

I need to know if there is something medically that I can take to stop ovarian cysts. I had a hysterectomy at the end of Dec and the dr refuse to take my ovaries. He never diagnosed me with the polycystic condition but another dr in the dr office did on the last day I had insurance by doing another ultrasound, I have had several of them that showed many follicules and some cysts. In fact there was another cyst on a ovary the dr removed during my surgery, that was my second cyst to be removed. I was at the dr's office I believe in May. The only medication I was placed on at the time was a diruretic since all my hormone levels are fine. Well I just called back because my one of ovaries are killing me, I do believe that its the same one that had the cyst in it and am waiting for my dr's office to call back. The only choice I have in medicines are just birth control pills and I cannot take those because I have migraines from them and nausea that never goes away when I take them. They also say that they want to do another freaking ultrasound but come on they just did one and now I have to pay out of pocket. I am so mad right now, perhaps if my dr had diagnosed me with this condition, then I wouldn't be in pain now.

Red face sry

Hello and welcome

Sry about the pain I go thru that sometimes too! You are ttc ? If so your RE could but you on Lupon to calm the ovaries down a bit until you are ready to take clomid or injectables to help you with O. Hope you feel better

to SoulCysters!

I'm so sorry you are in pain!

Is there anything that can stop ovarian cysts? I'm not sure, but I highly doubt it. If you could stop them, most of us probably wouldn't be here.

Definitely look around the boards (and maybe do a search) and see if you can find answers. I wish you the best. If the pain gets really bad, please go to the ER.

I think you need to work out exactly what to ask your doctor... from what you describe, it sounds like as well as having PCOS (which are not true cysts, rather many enlarged follicles) you had some actual cysts that needed to be removed. That is separate from PCOS, which is a hormonal condition and will be there whether or not you have ovaries (the name is misleading). To deal with the enlarged follicles of PCOS you can take several approaches, which are discussed on the medication boards and also the alternative therapy boards. You can also look into the lifestyle boards since diet and exercise play a huge role.

Good luck!
