Hi Everyone, I'm new here, you can just call me Juicy..

I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3weeks ago, I went to My endocronologist yesterday, he started me on Ortho Novum / Metaformin, now I asked him about the Metaformin, because I had seen other people on these website talk about how they are taking it and its helping them lose weight. And he said yes, he usually prescribes it if the patient is obese (:sighs: which I am)...
I haven't always been though, I use to weigh between
150 -175 , I started gaining weight and it was all down hill from there. Of course the last time I weighed that little was about 10 years ago*
I'll give a little history and background about myself: White Female
Single, no kids, and no prospects...lol
32 years old
Have not had a normal menstrual cycle in the last 12 years, for the last 4 years I have not had one at all. Unless I went on the pill or lost weight*
I just recently lost 25 lbs just on a diet, but still no period..
I had my gall bladder removed when I was 17, (I WAS YOUNG)
It's nice to finally know whats wrong with me, I hate it took so long to find out though.. I should be getting my test results back from all the blood work soon, I know he was checking my glans or somethin, pituitary?
Guess I'll know in a few days...
Some issues I've had that led me to believe something wasn't right....
Thinning hair* OMG MY hair has thinned out so much over the last 3 years, and my family has really thick hair, I think this worries me more than anything. I can deal with being fat, just not FAT & BALD! He said he believed I was insulin resistance, because I had a dark circle around the back of my neck, you know just kinda makes ya neck look dirty, like you need to wash it, lol But its just dark!!!
I get a few hairs under my chin that I find myself plucking all the time, lol but no beard yet!
and Hair just below my belly button , you know kinds like a males (happy trail) lol Who ever came up with that name>?? sheesh rofl
Also at my heaviest was this August at 307lbs...I'm 5'9" tall.....I;m currently down to 285 my Family doctor put me on phentermine along with a healthy diet and it's worked so far... However when I went to see the Endo doc yesterday he sad me losing weight was better than any pill he could give me, he said that would be my means of controlling it! So losing weight is first and foremost for me. heck I'm 32, and I need a husband time is running out rofl...... I gotta do somethin.
