I'm not really a newbie but... Here's a summary of my story.
Diagnosed at 19, on the pill for 2 years, then off, went to having irregular periods again. Facial hair, manly weight on my stomach, acne. Came to China in '02, periods stabilized to every 35 days with the 10kg I lost, stayed that way until recently when I me period had a 3-month hiatus.
Went to a doctor, had 3 days of hormone injections, was surprised that they had even heard of PCOS. On day 5 of my period I'm supposed to begin a cocktail of estrogen and progesterone to regulate my periods, and will take that monthly.
Is there anything I should be doing to prepare for fertility treatment in 2 years time?! I already know I'm infertile because I've been having unprotected sex with my partner for a year and no pregnancy to date.
Also, what's in a regular birth control pill in Canada?
I'll probably be going for an ultra sound this month to see what my ovaries are up to and if there are any cysts on them. Treatment in China might prove to be much cheaper than Canada, so I might have it done here (plus I'm friends with a doctor here!! FREE!!)...
But if anyone can offer me some advice, it'd be appreciated.
Thanks!
