Default I'm now very confused!

Before starting Metformin, I was feeling pretty ill. Very much like diabetic like symptoms. Feeling weak, tired, craving sugar and If I didn't eat anything sugary, I felt pretty rubbish for most of the day. Among many other symptoms the joy of PCOS brings, missing period, acne etc etc etc.

I've now been on Metformin since Nov, and was a success story. However, over the last month I've felt the symptoms back - acne, feeling pretty fatty even though I lost a good deal of weight, weak, tired and again craving rubbish foods again, went to the doctor thinking she'd up the met dose, instead she wanted to lower it?!!???!
She said that because the Met is known to be a diabetic drug it can cause these side effects, she's told me to change my diet and if still feeling the same after 2 weeks she'll lower the dose?
What's that all about? I'm confused?
