Unhappy I'm so down......

This morning I was looking at my hair and realized that my "bald spot" is getting bigger. Its located right at the top back part of my head. I need to use two mirrors so that I can see it. I have been using nizoral for the past 2 weeks and nothing. I have been using the over the counter one. I'm going to start using Rogaine - for men. Cause my derm told me to use it at night, since I only use it once. The one for women is twice a day and it leaves my hair flat in the mornings. I'm so down I hate it. I have tried to camoflauge it with different styles and nothing. Could it be the spiro I have been taking? I don't know what to do. I have made an appointment with my derm but I know the speech all to well.. " It's hereditary" theres nothing you can do."

It's embarrasing

aww. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I can't imagine the effect this has on your self confidence. No woman should have to deal with this. I hope the rogaine works for you.

I started Rogaine last week ( mens ) cause I only apply at night and its stronger. I also started Nizoral shampoo. The only thing I hate is that my scalp is flakey. My derm says that its the rogaine. Oh well......
I will keep you posted. I wish I could show all of you my head of hair... I mean some people say its not that bad but to me....

Selina, if you thinning is mostly confined to the top of your head, you are probably an ideal candidate for a partial hairpiece, or "topper", which will cover that part of your head and add some volume to your hair. Why don't you do some research at Wig Support or HerAlopecia to see if that's an option for you.

When I was in your position, I got a topper, and my hair was sooooo much prettier, and I gained back so much confidence.

Starmaiden,

I'm trying to c if I can get a picture to post so that I could show how it is.

I don't think I could wear a wig. They told me about these hair fibers called topik that you sprinkle on kind of to camaflauge.

Thanks for the info.
