I'm so excited! I just went to meet my WLS surgeon today
I'm so excited! I just went to meet my surgeon today and have my psych eval on Friday. I can't WAIT to have the surgery. I know plenty of people who have had it and been successful and it's something I've researched for 5 years now. I am a single mom of two little girls and need to be as healthy and active as possible for them.
As far as I know I have to wait until around Feb or March to schedule my surgery because my insurance company is making me go through the red tape, but it will be worth every moment spent waiting!

Congratulations! I know that deciding to have any type of WLS is daunting and takes a lot to actually persue. Which surgery are you looking to have? Good luck with your psych eval and all your other 'red tape' appointments. I hope you get your date sooner than you're expecting.

I just had my psych eval on Friday, which was daunting. I spent an hour with the psychologist and then an hour and a half taking inventory-type tests. An eating inventory, an MMPI, and two other tests! I go back this Friday for the results and am anxious to see how it went.

I'm having lap gastric bypass surgery. I just had my psych eval on Friday and am going in for the results this Friday coming up. Hoping all is well!

Congrats! It's so exciting to finally see everything coming together! I remember when I was doing all of my tests and such - thinking .. soon my life will start over. And, in a year and just a few months.. but has it started over. All of the red tape was so worth it in the end, and I would for sure do it all over again. Best of luck to you!!

Ah yes...the psych eval. I remember filling out this 300something question survery and thinking...wow...can you say paranoid? There were lots of questions like "do you feel that someone is out to get you" and "I feel like people are watching me"....I guess it's to help determine if you have some underlying psych issue. Oh...and I had to laugh at one question that said "I've flown over the Atlantic Ocean more than 300 times". Fortunately the psych guy said I was "normal" (WHEW!! LOL!). He said that he actually had a guy who said yes to the ocean question...turns out he did a lot of international travel due to business. Anyway he said that question was thrown in to see if people were actually paying attention to the questions.
GL getting your results!
