Unhappy i'm so worried.....

i'm getting off of accutane in less than two weeks and i'm afraid all the acne will come back. i was told before going on it that people with hormonal imbalances usually get their acne back once they're off the drug. my face has a lot of redness and has scarring, but it still look a lot better than it has in about 7 years. i'm really dreading what's going to happen. i can't live with acne anymore. i can't handle it. i'm so sick of people asking me what's wrong with my face, it's so ugly. i'm going back to the derma in about 3 weeks, but i've tried every cream and pill, except retin a. so i'm going to give it a try but i'm feeling doubtfull.

i've started eating only whole grains, and no sugar. hopefull that will help. anyone else in the same situation.... hopefully someone out there that has conquered this????

bethers, i had a look at that web page. if i cut gluten out of my diet i'll really be limiting what i can eat. but if that's what's causing the acne, i would do it in an instant. how do i find out if that's my problem?

I too have tried everything for acne. I do not want to discourage you either however my face cleared up completely with Accutane about 3 years aga and that lasted for about 7 months. And then it started all over again. I am still looking for something that works.

Before I started using Pro-Activ, which has been a miracle for me, I was on the pill. But I was still breaking out. My OB put me on Ortho-Tricyclin and my face was as clear as it could be.

Have you tried either of those?

I hate to be a downer, but I used accutane for a few years and when I stopped my acne returned. Pro-Active helps a lot. I'm not pimple free, but a lot better. Retin A didn't do me a darn bit of good.

I'll be your ray of hope. I had one round of Accutane 9 years ago and my acne has not returned. I still get the occasional pimple or two, but they are within the realm of normal and NOTHING like I had before.

that does make me feel better! i'm glad it worked for you!! i'm hoping that if i eat healthy that it won't come back. the derma did say that a lot of people with hormonal imbalances just get their acne back, but he didn't say that it happens to everyone.
