My Mood: Points: 9,161.83 Bank: 9,095.28 Total Points: 18,257.11 | I'm thin, anovulatory and insulin resistent Forgot to mention this also. My Gyn also was against putting me on metformin because I was thin, saying if I was thin I wouldn't be insulin resistent. Well during my pregnancy I developed gestational diabetes and was diagnosed insuliin resistant. After the pregnancy I'm still diabetic and insulin resistant, even though I'm underweight according to the height/weight charts. Unless they actually do a test to see if you're insulin resistant (and I would demand to have one done) you'll never know. After my pregnancy my cycles and signs are all completely wacked. My mood swings and fatigue are so bad that I've had to stop working because I can't get through the day without blacking out. My Gyn now aggrees that Metformin can be a good thing for thin cysters and I've been on it for three months, still waiting to see if my cycles will start to regulate (no success yet).

My Mood: Points: 2,560.18 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,560.18 | thin cyster Hi Debbie!
I hope every thing works out for you. I thought I'd give you a little story here to boost your hopes! I am a thin cyster, 5'7" 137 lbs. I coulnt belive when I was first dx'd with Pcos I was under the impression at first that most all Cysters were over weight and had no sucess dieting. Here I was not over weight but yet I had pcos. Then I started researching on my own and found out that I needed to be tested for IR. I was and I was correct I am IR. I am now on 1500mgs of Metformin and it's a wonder drug for me. Within the first month of taking met my cycles were regular (28 days) and I was ovulating!!!!! I feel so much better!! I have been "normal" (whatever normal is LOL) for 7 months but still not PG. I had a post coital test done and I have acidic CM which is why we are not PG! We start IUI soon! I hope this gives you a little hope with your Metformin journey! Http://groups.msn.com/pcosttc
