I'm thinking my body is just confused???

I just stopped the pill last Saturday when the pack was up and it was my empty week. The plan was to have a period and call it day on BCP for a while so that we can start trying to have a baby. I'll admit I missed a few pills here and there last month and we would say oh well I'll just double up or triple up the next night. That happened on more than one occasion, but it's happened before and we've thought nothing of it.
The week of the 31st (my wedding week of all weeks!) I started spotting a tiny bit for a few days off and on. I took my pills until the January 3, but I once again forgot to take one on the 31st (my wedding night). So, I should have had a period by Wednesday of last week and it never came so I let it go until Saturday night. Took a HPT-negative. Took one in the morning just to make sure still negative.
I'm ok with that, but what I can't figure out is if my body is just really confused with me or what because I'm been having horrible cramps all week and I've been feeling nauseous and just rather blah. I started taking prenatals on Monday and I know that even though they didn't bother me the first day they could now be attributing to the fatigue and ickiness, but I don't know what is causing the cramping.
I know this is long and drawn out and I apologize in advance! Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone else know how to fix this? It's yucky feeling!!!
