I need advice

Hey,I am 17 and I have known that I am bisexual for over a year now my friends all know and don’t care and accept it but I haven’t told my parents yet and the reason is because my entire family feels that it is wrong and I don’t know what to do because it is a part of my life and I want them to know but I am seriously afraid of what they will do and say because they are the type of people that are very judgmental and are not good at accepting people for who they are. I was wondering if any of you can give me advice. Thank you :

i completely understand where you are coming from. my family has a lot of christians in it i'm even a lesbian and a christian. when they found out it was hard on me i was told that i'm going to hell and that i was sick and needed help. it is not easy at all to tell the people that you hold dear to you that you are bi or gay and to have them reject that thought and react in that way but when it was all said and done i felt better because i dind't have to hide anymore about who i was to them. since then they have gotten better about it my mom still has a prob but at least she will talk to whoever i am with and she will alow them to come over my dad so doesn't care as long as i'm happy hes happy but my brothers on the other hand hate me one out and out fights with me because of it but it is better than me hiding out and hurting because i am hiding who i really am. i hope that when you do tell them that it goes over as smoothly as it can you are in my thoughts.

ps i will be 20 in june and i have been out since i was in high school

I understand were you are coming from. I am now a 23 year old girl that was In the exact same situation at your age. I decided it was best for my relationship with them to not tell them. They would of at all odds just ignored it or denied it or the worse denied me. I just now make it a point to make my point of view on homosexual and bi very apparent. Whenever they say something that is intolernt i tell them so and state my opinion. By the way they respond to that i know i am in the right not telling them. I figure my sexual orientation is no one business but my own. Tell us what you decide. I hope whatever it is you can live with the chioce you make. Best of luck.
