Ok,so I have been taking pills (all types) since I was first Dx with PCOS at the age of 12 and right now I was taking BCP's and a multivitamin, and my problem is I think my body is getting tired of me taking them cause as of last week every time I took a pill my stomach doesn't tolerate it anymore and I'm so tired of taking pills is there any other way to battle this TTC and PCOS without taking pills? cause as of Friday of last week I took myself off of all the pills because I only throw them back up anyway (sorry tmi) but I need some type of advice cause I can't do the pills anymore I really can't and I don't know what to do.

I've tried different tablets for PCOS, but I always ended up taking myself off them, I think I just feel like there isn't much that can help me. I've still got acne, I've still got excess hair, and mood problems monthly, but this is me and I deal with it. I'm not sure I agree that taking tablets for every little ailment is the right way to go and sometimes they can make you worse rather than better. Obviously I can't tell you to take tablets or not take them, this is something you will need to work out for yourself, or perhaps with your doctor. It needs to be your decision. But I think if you have been taking certain drug long term then your body does adjust and you do become immune. What exactly do you take tablets for?? As I said before I dont take tablets at all, and I'm just fine, I just felt that even though I have PCOS its not something I'm going to let control my life.
Yea I need to talk to my doctor but he is like 45 minutes to an hour away, so you know how that works, but I have been on birth control depo shot, then borth cotrol pills like for almost 6 years now don't get me worng it has been different types of BCP's but still 6 years, and then I got off for a little bit cause I was ttc and i was put on provera and metformin and my body totally rejected the metformin I didn't stay on that long at all the doctor took me off of met and put me on avandia for what I don't know, then I was put on clomid O'd on that had some follies show up and then I just stopped taking them, I was just thinking if there is anyway I can give my body a break form taking so many pills for so very long, and still try to fight the PCOS thing you know

I took Metformin for a while, but I constantly had stomach problems and if I had a date or a night out planned I'd think I wont take them tonight coz I dont want a bad tummy, in the end I just thought its not worth it. As for birth control pills I've tried about 5 or 6, the last was effective in the sense that it actually controlled my periods, but again I decided to come off it, the pill is good if you have really irregular periods, but it doesn't solve the problem it masks it, so I decided to to come off it and I'm now in the process of trying to lose weight to see if I can get my periods more regular. If I stayed on the pill I would never know if the weight loss was helping. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and I really do think alot of women with PCOS don't need tablets to control it. But we are all different, with different severities of the condition.

If you want to go the non-medicated route, you'll need to get on a strict diet and exercise program - whether you're overweight or not. That's the only other way to treat PCOS as far as I know. I don't know what type of diet is best - I've heard many different theories. So you may want to talk to a dietitian/nutritionist to find out what's best for you.
Thanks rainbow brite!! That's was one of my favorite shows growing up by the way, I think I may do that.
