For what specifically?

I saw an endocrinologist by name of Camille Buonocore - I believe she was affiliated with Mercy, as that's where her office was. Her group was called Macauly Medical Associates (may have spelled Macauly wrong)

I loved her! She really knew her stuff about PCOS but didn't do fertility as far as I know.

I had nothing but rotten luck with Magee for what it's worth.

eta This is her

That's not the office I saw her at but if you call I am sure they can tell you where all she sees patients now. She had more than one office then.

The RE I saw at Magee was Elizabeth McKee - I think. I know it was SIMILAR to Magee but wasn't actually Magee. Pretty sure it was McKee.

The OB/GYN I saw at Magee - well connected with Magee but actually a little down the street, in the old Isaly's building kind of at Bigelow Blvd and whatever street Magee is on - Oh, I'm so ashamed, I can't remember my Pittsburgh geography... that means it's time to go home... ANYWAY her name was Renata Hoka. I guess she was OK as an ob/gyn but when it came to PCOS she was a MORON... but I have since learned maybe that is unfair to think of her as because most ob/gyns don't seem to know much about PCOS. Technically it's not in their field but they are going to encounter it so they should know at least something. Something more than "You can't have that, only really obese women have that."

I saw Dr Mckee and I thought she was okay. I didn't see her but 2 times. She diagnosed me PCOS started me on met and 2 wks later I was pregnant. I unfortunely don't have any other experience with many dr in Pittsburgh even though I lived there most of my life. I have seen the same group of family physicians for 10yrs. I unlike most people have never had a bad experience with Magee. I gave birth to both my kids there and will have my 3rd there as well

Default Renal Endocrinologist at Magee Hospital

My daughter has been to two endocrinologists in the Pgh. area. First Dr. Parapelly at UPMC Passavant Hospital. We quickly switched because she was too quick to prescibe meds without enough bloodwork. Kayleigh is now seeing Dr. Brinda Kalro at Magee. She is very good. She has done several research studies on PCOS. She spends alot of time with her patients and repeats bloodwork frequently to see how the BCP's are affecting my daughter's cholesterol (it had skyrocketed on both Yasmin & the Patch). My daughter hates being on the pill, but Dr. Kalro feels that this is her best option right now to shut down her ovaries and lower the testosterone levels. She is hesitant to put her on glucophage because she is not insulin resistant.
Another reason we switched to a RE was because I wanted to hopefully deal with someone who will help preserve her fertility (she is only 19). Dr. Kalro does alot of accupuncture for infertility and in-vitro fertilization. I hope my daughter never has to deal with that, but I think we are in the right place.
