Exclamation I Need Energy!!

I was diagnosed with PCOS last October after having symptoms for over 6 years. I am now taking Welbutrin XL 150mg and Metformin 500mg. I've noticed a huge difference in my depression and anxiety but I haven't lost any weight, which I'm sure is because I'm not exercising. I spend most of my day at work and being confused of what I can and can't eat, by the time it's over I'm exhausted. I have plenty of time to exercise after I get my daughter to bed, but forget it, I have no energy!! :o I use to work out almost every day until a doctor put me on Effexor XR a few years ago, and even though I’m no longer taking them I still have NO ENERGY. I put on 40lbs when I was taking the Effexor for two years which triggered every PCOS symptom you can think of. What do you ladies take or what have you done that helped to give you energy to exercise? Please help me get my life back.

I know many of us take Chromium for energy but it will react with certain drugs. You'd have to research which ones those are.

hi girl!
your body could be missing certain electrolytes too, get your doctor to run a couple blood tests (uggh, i know, but they are very helpful!) the doctor can then see what your white cell count is, they can check for any nutrient deficiencies and make some helpful suggestions. i know when my diet is low in iron i feel absolutely lethargic and unmotivated, especially during that time of the month because there is also blood loss. the best energy boosters? the important thing is to eat, because food is our bodys fuel. but it has to be the right kinds of foods. if you eat things with little nutrient value, your body spends all its time trying to sort out the garbage you just fed it and you have no energy. but don't eat in heaving clumps. the best thing? a couple peices of celery with every meal. i tried this trick and it works like a charm! because celery takes more calories to break down than it actually contains, it ends up using the other food you consumed to help break it down. it is a very monotonous routine, but killer results! best bet snacks for quick energy boost? my faves are tomato juice (thirst quenching and is filling) and special k bars (also filling, and sooo delicious you won't believe it is under 100 calories) also crispy minis are a hit as well as "source" yougurt. i hope these tips help you, the best of luck to you and God bless.

Hi there,

This happens on MET...you B12 is probably low. Pop a couple a day for a couple days and you'll be good.

Have a great day!

I agree about the Chromium, that has helped me also. Make sure you are taking a good multi-vitamin as well.
I hate to say this, but exercise really is the best thing for energy. I know it's hard to get the energy for that, but once you do it's the best thing ever!
