I visited my Dr. a month ago because I have been having two sometimes three periods a month, and even sometimes I wont get one for two months. That had been going on for a year. Anywaze, I was there a month ago and was told I may have PCOS but that they were waiting for my labs to come back. My next app is on Monday the 14th, where I will find out What I may have. I just really wanted to know if My sympotoms are normal or not. I'm scared because I am gaining wieght really fast and also my sister had it too. I am only 23 and a mother of one. I am having a hard time believing that this is happening to me. I know that I am scared of what the dr is going to say on Monday. Thank you for your time.

Don't be scared - it's a lot to take in, I know, but even though PCOS is a relatively recent "discovery" there is still a lot of information out there. Plus, you have a great group of gals here to listen to anything you need to have out.

I highly recommend reading the Sticky posts at the top of this message board on what you need to know about PCOS, and Getting a Diagnosis -- information is power and it certainly helps to calm the fears.

Thank you so much. That really helps! I hope everything works itself out here really quick. I really wanna lose the weight. Everything started while I was preg with my daughter. Ever since then I just keep getting bigger. I'm in constant pain and now that I have found this site I feel like there is hope out there for me and my daughter. Unfourtunately I will have to tell her about this and she will be able to get better care than I got. My mom didnt inform me of the fact that my sister has the same thing till I found out the name. She just thought it was due to the fact that she is a DES baby. Oh well thank you for your reply I hope o hear from you soon

I'm glad you found this board - I've been on it only a month, and it has helped me SO much. I finally feel like I am not alone anymore. It's amazing to talk to so many other women who are having the same struggles and challenges that you are.
