Default I need help..someone who knows to read this & let me know what you think-

Okay sorry I need help & yes this is going to be long....
I have been menstruating since I was 12. I turned 17 a few days ago....for the first time since I started menstruating I was fairly (i mean I actually had a period every month) from January-April of this year....then this is what got me researching this- I was involved in a serious car accident on April 23. All the "usual" blood tests were run in the ER including a pregnancy test (actually they ran about 5 or 6) and all of them showed I was at least 4-6 months pregnant. Well what a shocker since I'm a virgin & have never even "messed around" So after my sister got out of the hospital over 2 weeks later I went to my family dr. and he ran another blood pregnancy test -this time I came back approx. 1-2 weeks pregnant....he scheduled me for an ultrasound-which came back w/ nothing. & I had my period only 1 week late that month..on may 28th I had surgery to repair my shoulder injury from the accident & a urine preg. test was negative! so since then I've started having really bad acne, hair that has gotten quite thick & dark on my stomach, feet & upper lip, & I've only had 2 periods since then.....I've been cramping (similar to pre-men. cramps) & lots of abdominal pain, and I have a lot of diabetes-type symptoms.. but I'm not sure what to do....so I took a quiz that was in a mag similar to the one on this site & was between the top 2 on pts. so I guess I need to know what can be done if I have a diagnosis & who/ how do I get one? Can I go to the doctor w/out parental involvement b/c my mom has kind of blown me off when I told her I thought I had this & needed to get tested for it...
anyways any replys are appreciated!

Welcome to SC!
Good for you for taking care of yourself and looking into PCOS. I would recommend seeing your dr (or an Endocronoligist) for the blood work and other tests.
Since I'm in Canada, I can't answer your question about parental involvement, but I'm hoping you can get it done even if your mom isn't concerned. Maybe she is just in denial?

How soon is your B-Day? Once you turn 18 you don't need your parents/gaurdian to sign anything. You will be considered an adult, and you can do what you want...make decisions about medial treatment.

I would go to an ob/gyn...maybe they can tell you why all those tests came back positive. That is just so weird, but it just tells you that something is not behaving properly. My endo said that PCOS can trick your body into believing that you're half pregnant (i.e. wieght gain).

Take Care, and Good Luck!
