I need an outside opinion PLEASE! Ok, I haven't been diagnosed with PCOS, but I need opinions. About 6 months ago (or longer), I started getting an unexplainable cramping pain in my abdomen. I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound done and found out that I have ovarian cysts that the doctor says ARE NOT related at all to my IUD. They sent me home and I read about PCOS somewhere, and put 2 and 2 together. The same time that I got the pain from the cysts, I also got terrible acne (out of nowhere after having a great complection) on my face, upper chest, and upper back. I also started growing thick dark hair on my legs that needs to be shaved ever day, when normally I have super thin blonde hair that doesn't need shaved but once a month. I am now growing dark hair on my toes, fingers, belly button, and one or two on my upper lip. I made an appt to talk to my doctor about it and when I went in and told her all of this, she said that she wasn't really worried about it because I'm not the "picture candidate" because I'm not overweight. She then took me for another ultrasound and found that my large cyst had gone, but I have many smaller cysts on my ovary. She said they don't really look Policystic. She told me that she can run the tests if I wanted to, but she didn't think I needed to because I'm not overweight and because I have a 2 year old and a 10 month old. (I don't know if my periods are regular or not because I'm on the IUD and don't have any anymore). But I just started having these problems months after giving birth...is it not possible to get it after being fertile?! I didn't run the test, because I thought she knew what would be best, but now I'm still having cyst pains and my hair and acne is just as bad as ever (STILL! Grrr.) Should I get a second opinion or have the tests run just in case? Does it sound like there is a possibility that this is what I could have? I'm ready to finally figure this out...I'm so confused. |
