My Mood: Points: 15,968.43 Bank: 102,104.22 Total Points: 118,072.65 | I need to thank work... bedrest and leave I have been on bedrest (well I am supposed to) I go to work 30 min a day to pick up work and work at home. I also do emails and phone calls all day at home.
My work leave is really nothing at all we do not fall under FMLA we have less than 50 people who work in the company. We have no STD and no LTD. So can't apply for that.
Today my boss and director took me into the confernece room and informed me they were giving me 2 weeks of extra for time with the baby. They said I could also use any comp time for weeks that may not make 40 hours (Prior to bed rest I was doing 50-70 hours a week).
This means I will have 6 paid weeks. I was only going to have 4 and planed on going back to work at week 5 PP 1/2 time and week 6 full time. Partly because as the market struggles $$ is tight. We are not poor and we have savings but thing cost so much more than they did 1 year ago.
I want to thank them with more than words. I feel not even words could thank them for my greatfullness and happiness.
I need any suggestions are welcome thank you !!!

Just a thought!

I work in a small company too- and despite being told I would get paid maternity when I decided to stay with the company (I got job offer at another company who would pay 12 weeks leave), they have since changed their mines. Money for us is really really tight and we don't have much in savings. So what your work is doing is downright AWESOME. Really. It gives me hope that there are other places out there who actually care about their employees!
However, since everyone does not know, and the higher ups probablly want to keep it that way- doing something for the whole office might bring up questions. If it were me- I'd only do/get something for the people directly involved. I think a gift certificate to a place to eat is great. Wine is good too- if you know for sure they drink it To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

My Mood: Points: 10,069.14 Bank: 387,045.02 Total Points: 397,114.16 | I think you could still pull off something for the whole office without spilling the beans about what you were given by just sending a note with whatever you send that says thanks for all of the understanding and support in my time of need as an expectant mommy. It shows your gratitude to the office while not spreading around what the higher ups have done for you. And than doing the wine/dinner for the higher ups seperately without anyone else knowing still shows them that you appreciate what they did and respect the need for it to be kept "under wraps" so to speak.
Just my thoughts though.

My Mood: Points: 15,968.43 Bank: 102,104.22 Total Points: 118,072.65 | I think doing breakfast for the office is cool cause I have not been there in the office and I feel like I am not pulling my weight. Even though I am busting my butt as much as I can at home even working on weekends. Munchkins and Box of Joe for those who know what Dunkin is. I think will do.
As for my boss and director.. Wine or dinner or both. I mean they often drop of items for me to work on at home. I feel like I owe them so much. I mean with only 30 people in the company including part timers this is a huge to me. I mean I would have only so little time with out this... Like Breoliver our money is tight in the company and tight at home... I work for a non profit.. NOT one single person makes 6 figures or even in the 70K for that matter a year.. So money is a joke..
thank you for all your help.. I am still on cloud 9 about my extra time..I just need to find a perfect way to repay prefect bosses..... you know

You wouldn't want to say accidentially offend one of them if say they were a recovering alcoholic or something and you didn't know it. You never know.
