I joined this Mastering Motherhood group at a new church. They get together once a month, and discuss a book that we're all supposed to be reading. Well, I'm the only one without earthly children. A lot of the women think I'm really strong for joining a group like this, but it gets me out of the house.
Well, yesterday, they had prizes for women who fell into certain categories. I got a cat bank b/c I was named after my mom. Then other people won for living closest to their moms, or having the oldest child.
Then they had one for the newest mom. There's one other girl who had her baby on Dec 12. I had Eric on Dec 13. She wasn't there, and everyone else has at least 1 kid, so I got the prize, but when I was walking back to my chair, I started crying. Then, I started hyperventilating a little bit b/c this breathing thing I had with Eric came back. I few people came over and gave me hugs, but I almost had a panic attack. I was a little embarrassed, but if other moms can't deal with someone crying b/c they lost their kid, then they're crazy.
It wasn't bad, it was nice to be able to cry. I just don't really talk about anything with anyone else, b/c they don't understand.
But I'm the newest first time mom!!

Aw, this brought tears to my eyes! To have them validate your son's existence and give you the prize shows that there are people in the world that 'get it'. I think that's amazing that they did that for you, and didn't just pass you over simply because your son was taken too early. ((((HUGS)))) to you as you face this hard holiday without your beautiful son.

That's so nice that you joined that group!!!! I really admire you for doing that. What a nice group of women!!! I hope you continue to enjoy their company.

They are an extremely supportive, nice, normal group of women. They have a Pregnancy Care Ministry, and they help with pretty much any aspect of pregnancy. I don't know about TTC, but you can get support for normal pregnancies, high risk, m/c, stillborns, teen pregnancy, multiples. They really are awesome. That's just for pregnancy and right after birth. Then there's this group. I'm really lucky to have found this group at this time in my life. I think I'd go crazy without it.
