Default I posted a poll if anyone is interested

Hi ladies, I posted a thread on the Mommies board if anyone is interested. It is asking if PCOS is hereditary in your family. I thought I'd post it over there as it seems to have more traffic than us here down under. Here is the link

Is PCOS hereditary in your family?

Thanks, Donna.

I voted Donna, My cousin was just diagnosed last year, after trying to fall pg for about 7 years with her 2nd child (and 2 different partners in that time), she finally had the tests done and got a clomid script, then fell pregnant before she got to use it!! (she had a baby boy 2 weeks ago - Kain) She's on my fathers side. She has 3 sisters, and I reckon at least one other of them also has PCOS, but hasn't been dx'd.

I'll take a look, Donn.
I have no obvious hereditary links. Although I suspect it comes from my dad's side. No infertility on his side....but lots of inflammatory type diseases. I often wonder if they are linked. I also see a couple of similarities between dad and I...eg. tiny skin tags, bouts of dermatitis, etc...all of which are PCOS symptoms. Neither of my sisters appear to have it.....I'm just the lucky one I guess.

Hi Donn

I went to a talk a few years ago with QFG where they said that PCOS is always carried by the male and they actually linked it to premature baldness in men as well.
