I really need a good PCOS endo dr. in the Toronto area
Hi everyone - I also posted this on the doctor's thread, but I'm desperate so I'm looking for more! I've been to two endo's - one in Mississauga and one in Oakville - both don't know very much. One told me to go to LA Weightloss - I could have punched him.
I don't want a gyno - I don't plan on having children. I really want a good endo who knows about PCOS.
What about going to see Dr. Loredo(sp?) a the PCOS Clinic.
She is endo who has the knowledge to treat PCOS symptoms & doesn't push for fertility treatments.
Good Luck.
I don't believe they will call you untill they receive a referral from your family physician.
I saw her back when we were ttc and she said that she was unable to do anything for us untill we were no longer trying.
Good Luck!
The address is below.
Through the PCOS clinic you will have access to an RE but if you only require an endocrinologist...you can only see Dr. laredo...she really only focuses on PCOS and not the infertility of PCOS
If you need any other info don't hesitate to ask.!
I went to my GP yesterday and asked them to make an appointment with her for me. I don't know if she's accepting patients or not - I'll let you know when I hear back - I have a feeling it will take a while!
I have an appointment with my GP on Tuesday to see about a referral *fingers crossed*. Let me know how it turns out for you
Thanks Beetlegirl for the info/link. Have you been going there? I noticed (in another thread I think) that you went there a few years ago and we not all that impressed. Any updates?
I now live in British Columbia so the commute to the clinic would be a tad far.
There was a few issues with the clinic....but I was also trying to conceive and my timimg was off.
I did like the Dr.Loredo, and the fact that she tested absolutely every single endocrine disorder to rule out any other issues. I liked the fact that she took the time to talk to us & answer questions.
I didn't like that they advertised they had a gyn. for patients and yet the gyn. refused to see me during a two month miscarriage. I also didnt like that the wait to see the RE was shorter if I was referred by my family dr rather than the through the PCOS clinic and I needed to see a new RE. I went to the clinic years ago. It had potential and I have heard great reviews from others since.
If I had the opportunity to go to clinic of it's kind out here in Western Canada, I wouldn't think twice.
