I just want to say thank you so much to the wonderful person who set up this site. I'm 21 and I've known that I have PCOS for about 3 years but I have never really acknowledged that it was a real condition I suffer from and not just another flaw that I'm responsible for.
I've struggled really deeply with depression and bi-polar disorder to the point where I almost attempted to take my own life and I'm to blame because I've always been horrible at taking my meds.
I HATE PCOS with a vengeance. I hate my abnormal hair growth. I hate my weight. I hate how hard it is to lose weight.
I can't read entries on this site without crying because I know what you're talking about and then to the women who are older than me and dealing with different, more important issues like trying to have children I feel foolish for getting so worked up over my appearance.
Because that's where the problem really lies for me. I've become obsessed with how unattractive I think I am. I have hair EVERYWHERE. I am fat. And it's my own fault that I won't do anything about it! I'm so bad at taking my glucophage everyday and I know it will help. I never used to use Vaniqa even though the hair growth is probably the thing that bothers me the most.
I just never knew that there was a community out there like this and I always felt that PCOS was just an excuse I was using in my head for being ugly. I know I sound silly but I feel so victimised by the syndrome, like why me??

Welcome!! I can relate as well..why me?? But the best thing is to take control rather then be upset thats all we can do right?? Harder said then done right?!?! I have been dx for almost a year and I still havent fully excepted it =/
