Default I Think I Have It - And I'm Terrified

I have PCOS, and didn't have a period pretty much ALL last year. I hadn't had regular periods for a very long time either. Then since I've been losing weight, so my period came back in May. But when I started again June 12th - I was spotting and am STILL SPOTTING today! (Plus cramps.) That's 21 days of brownish, dark brown, red, pink - every blood color under the sun. Chunky, clear - EVERYTHING.

I don't have very painful cramps - but then again I don't know what "excruciating" cramps feel like because I like NEVER have a period. They just feel painful to me - but not fall on the floor painful. My last one was bad, so I just took Tylenol. But I thought that might be because it was my first period in awhile.

Also, I am VERY constipated, and am sort of chronically that way. Especially in the past few weeks. But that could also be due to my low carb diet - so I am not sure.

So, what kind of blood do you have on your period???? Why would mine be occuring for 21 days, light, and TONS of different colors? Is it possible for the endometrial tissue that forms outside the uterus to like...go BACK in the uterus during a period and fall out? Sorry if that's dumb, but I can't think of anything else!

Also - there is NOT a history of it in my family, but my mom DOES have an autoimmune disorder (Lupus)....which I hear endometreosis can be cause by.

Seriously...I've been TTC SO hard - if I have to have a hysterectomy I will just die.

I'm sorry you're so down hun! I'm totally not a dr and I only know my own experience, but could your period just be so crazy because you haven't had one in so long? I would think there would be a lot of build up and it needs to get rid of all that stuff - this could be a very positive thing, your cycle getting back to normal. Either way, you could definitely talk to your doc (RE?) about it. A 21 day period would suck no matter what!

As for the constipation - I find that lots of veggies and regular exercise keeps me very regular.

I've also heard that fibroids can cause a lot of "clotting" during your periods. I'm just throwing that one out there - I really don't know much else about it.

And endo does not automatically lead to a hysterectomy. There are quite a few of us who can attest to that

Actually, I wouldnt worry too much. A few years back, I was having issues with my PCOS and periods where I would bleed for months. What my GYN found was that because I was not having my Periods, my lining of my Uterus was super thick, so that was my body's way of getting rid of all the tissue. I had brown, red, pink, I had clumps, and even tiny dots of clumps. This lasted for a few months at a time, in which my GYN gave me provera so I would get my period and shed everything once and for all and start over. BTW, this also started after I started losing weight. You should see your GYN and see if they can do an ultrasound to see if your lining is thick. I wouldnt worry too much about Endo, yet, if your cramps arent too bad. (Id define excruciating cramps as needing alieve (2 pills) and another pill over two hours for pain, up to needing codiene to help take the edge off(my own opinion).
