Red face I think I just tried Everything....

I am breaking out like a son of a gun for some reason...My cleansers aren't doing it so I have come down to this my last resort. A few years ago my mom told me she found this in a natural remedies book and I thought she was crazy and disgusting. This morning I have stooped to that disgusting gross level of natural acne treatment and My skin has already started to clear up. I'm not kidding -- what is it you ask? I used my first morning urine on my face Totally gross I know but my last resort has worked in a few hours...It says in the book if you use babies urine its the best but since I don't have any of those around...mine had to do. It just took a few drops on a cotton ball, wipe on your face like a toner and let it dry. I think you are supposed to leave it on all day but sorry not gonna happen. I washed mine off and did my regular face routine. The zits that I had are almost gone! My face actually feels cleaner and healther --

Has anyone else done this or am I the only crazy one here? And if you have how did it work for you?

Well, I wanted to see if this treatment was widespread, since I've never heard of it, and I found THIS:

http://www.overcome-diabetes.com/urine-therapy.htm

I had no idea people did this.

The worst part: The last section is entitled "A GOLDEN Future." That's just wrong!

Rozlynn- there is so much more you can do for your skin besides that fun home ritual you are doing. I am an aesthetician(skincare therapist) It all starts with the products you're using. So what are you using and how often do you use them? Have you ever talked to a professional about your acne problems? I can give you some advice if you want?

Drew: That article is gross I was gagging not even half way through it but thank you it was informative..

Stephanie: I use Proactiv 2 x a day and usually St. Ives mask in the middle of the day. The St. Ives has granuals and feels like it actually cleans my skin better than Proactiv. And yes I've talked to the professionals about this - said to drink more water and things should clear up. Problem is i already drink a gallon of water a day. So yes At this point ANY suggestions would be helpful cause the last resort is just that - -

proactive is ok, but get rid of the st.Ives! ST.Ives can actually create superficial tears in the skin from the granules that are in it. Proactive I've seen do alot of good for people but tends to dry out the skin from the alpha hydroxy acids that are in it. I would suggest if your washing your skin only once a day do it a night that the most important. I would use a gel cleanse(they absorb oil and dirt), a toner that has no alcohol in it and an oil free moisturizer. At the spa I work at we use a brand called physicians choice of arizona. Its by far one the best brands that I've seen work wonders for acne. You can find the online. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Rozlynn - you are not the only one to have tried that....I have too (well, I used my niece's from her pamper), and I know a couple of people who have as well!! One guy I know had really bad razor bumps and got rid of his for good by using a small part of his baby's pamper as an astringent!

I doubt that this means we are crazy !! But sometimes "natural" remedies work better than ANY product......and that is the truth.

Take Care

TOOTH PASTE! It really works. Just put a dab on at night before you go to bed and let it dry and leave it on all night. It takes the redness away and they disapear before morning. And as an added bonus you go to bed with that fresh, minty smell!

Drew~ I guess it's good I'm not from Bangkok cuz there is NOOOO way I'm drinking a cup of urine a day to clear up sinus trouble! uh-huh, no way, no how, sorry! I'll just take my Allegra!

I was looking at the physicians choice of arizona - What products would you suggest are the best? My proactive is running out and I would like to try your suggestion -- Thanks

have never heard of this different treatment, but it must be the acids clearing up your skin. I am not one to judge, but I had such terrible acne, and I use the following and my skin looks amazing

Tazorac cream, 1% 15-30 minutes every night, $25 with insurance
Finacea, which is azelaci acid, every morning, $25 with insurance
Doxycycline, but I stopped taking it after my skin cleared, it is an anti-biotic, $10
Aveeno Calming moisturizer and facial wash that calms inflammation and protects your skin from pre-mature aging, $16
Neutrogena chemical peel, $20(but I have had it since Dec.)

All these things last several months, so if your treatment begins to fail or you get sick of it, I would go see a dermotologist b/c over the counter stuff failed for me and I tried it all. Differin is another great rx drug but it is a little more expensive. Also, eating less sugar and getting your insulin levels under control is really important, as well as exercising, and taking vitamins.

Hope this helps, and hey whatever floats your boat you know

HAHA thanks - - I started using serious skin care, Continuously clear and I like it better than proactive so far. I have only had minor pimples but thats because I haven't taken off my makeup like I should be everynight...gross I know and I've been better so the skin is clearing up.

The pee thing was def a last resort to many years of frustration -- It works...
