Question I 'think' I'm now a thin cyster........

........i used to be quite fluffy before having my son (he was conceived with clomid in 2001). I just couldn't lose weight no matter what. Before I got pregnant with him I weighed around 199lbs and went up to 219lbs before giving birth. the only saving grace was that I'm 5'10" so I carried it quite well...phew!

Anyway, since giving birth I have lost pretty much all the weight I gained since my teens and am now around 138lbs (5'10"). Is this classed as 'thin'? I mean I know I'm not fat but still feel like I could lose a few pounds .

I am now ttc no.2 and have been since stopping bcp's in December. I conceived in April (naturally) which I NEVER thought would be possible. However, i had a miscarriage very early on Since then, my cycles have screwed up again. It seems that when I stop the bcp's I have a couple of regular(ish) periods and then nothing.

I wondered if anyone else has amenorrhea? I have to wait until October to see the specialist so i wondered if any of you thin cysters are doing anything herbal that is working for you?

Sorry so many questions and sorry to ramble it's just i haven't visited this board before

TIA for any help.

Take care all.

Andrea.

Hi Andrea. I've been chatting to you on the herbal forum. I'm a thin cyster too. Although, I'm no where near as thin as I was preDD. I've struggled quite a bit with my weight since having her, but I'm still pretty thin.

Congratulations on losing the weight

I'd say you're a "thin cyster". I think, for the most part, if anyone is even possibly considering themselves to be thin, then they probably are. Just about everyone has a few pounds they wouldn't mind losing. You don't have to have a "perfect" body to be considered thin.

A lot of women have problems when they go off of BCP and after pregnancy, so you may be suffering a double wammy right now. When I went off of BCP, I needed a form of progesterone to "jump start" my cycles.

I'd recommend learning NFP. The knowledge you learn about your body will help you to determine what may be some of the problems in your situation, like what may have been the cause of your miscarriage. The fluctuations of the various fertile signs are caused by various hormones, so tracking the changes in these signs will help you to see what is happening with these hormones throughout your cycle. NFP will also enable you to have "focused intercourse" during your most fertile time to increase your likelihood of getting pregnant.

Best of luck getting everything figured out.

hi and congrats!

yup, i know amenorrhea! i had it pretty much from about 16 or 17 (af started at 15 1/2 wasn't regular then, but a bit better than later) until i went on bcp at 22. then again after i went off bcp a couple years later. before i got pg i used wild yam cream to get af to arrive (before that i'd used prevera and prometrium). the wild yam cream worked. i was going to give it 12 days, and then stop, like with prometrium, but af started earlier than that, so i stopped using it, and let af do her thing. then i was able to take clomid.

good luck.

hannah
