Points: 5,372.95 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 5,372.95 | I think this may really work! So, as everyone can probably empathize, I have acquired an influx of acne with PCOS. I have tried virtually everything, and it sucks! I also have the problem of having sensitive skin, so when I get prescribed a cream or gel, I dry out and start peeling. I may have found a solution that seems to clear up acne and scars, does not dry out, and it is inexpensive.
I have been using lemon juice as a toner for the past week, and I can notice a visible difference. I have been applying it with a cotton ball after I wash my face in the morning and at night before bed. I do not wash it off, and I put on my makeup normally after it dries. The only downside I have found is it stings and itches when you put it on for about a minute. Prepare yourself because I read this on the internet before I tried it, but it couldn't have prepared me for how bad it was!!
Some people on the internet said to actually squeeze lemons for fresh juice, but I have been using 100% lemon juice in a bottle that I bought at an organic store. Seems to work just fine!
So, I'm going to continue to use it and post updates...I'd be interested in hearing if anyone else has tried this or would like to try it with me!

Wash with hot water and a facial brush or washcloth. Squeeze a fresh lemon into a small bowl and put the juice on a cotton ball. Apply cotton ball to face. Repeat soaking of cotton ball in lemon juice as needed. Let lemon juice dry on face for about 10 minutes then rinse with cool water. The lemon juice should make your face sting or mildly burn. For sensitive skin, dilute juice with filtered water.

I looked it up online and it looks promising although.. they said that if you use too much lemon juice on your face it can have the side effect of making your skin light sensitive. Make sure that you apply a good high in SPF sun block to protect your face if your going to do this..
Also, i read that lemon juice was also effective in lightening the dark spots left by acne.

Weird thing to note: When I put it on my face, it seems to sting in areas where I don't have acne...particularly under my jaw line. I just thought that was weird. |

Points: 5,372.95 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 5,372.95 | Ok, well I have been using this for two weeks now. Although I haven't been using it for two straight weeks because we went out of town, and I didn't have a fridge to put the juice in. So, I used it for a week, didn't use it for a week, then used it for a week again!
Anyway, I can tell a difference for sure. It's definitely less acne, and it dries faster. I'm still getting some bumps, but not near as bad as before. Stings like bee though! I'm only using mine as a toner, not as a wash.
I'd love to hear updates from other people!
