I think the Met is working!! I started Metformin in mid March and had been working out six days a week for 2 years and doing WW prior to that with no results. About the same time I started the Met I also started working with a trainer and following the IR diet.
About 3 weeks ago I just wasn't feeling well - I was very fatigued and sluggish, despite eating right and a lot of exercise. I had read (I think on these boards) that you needed to take a B12 supplement with Met, so I started on 250 mcg every day. I just didn't feel like myself and just sort of had a feeling that the Met was starting to work - my body was feeling weird in general.
Two weeks ago my trainer weighed me to figure out my metabolic rate and how many calories I should be eating. I hadn't weighed myself in a long time - when I started the Met, my endo weighed me, but I didn't look at the scale. Then, last week I started to feel really good - not just good, actually, but pretty great. My workouts are going great, my energy level is up, I just feel good in general.
So, today I got on the scale - I've lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks! I think the Met is kicking in! And the truth is, I didn't count my calories at all this weekend and ate and drank everything in site - but I still stuck to my exercise routine and worked out pretty hard.
God, I hope this really is the sign of Met working. I'm trying not to get too optimistic because I've been down this weight loss road before, but I am working really hard and my trainer was thrilled and his enthusiasm can tend to be contagious!
Have a great day everybody. |
