I think my crock pot bit the dust. What do you think?
I use my CP several times/month and I've had it for several years. Probably at least 4 yrs. This weekend I *attempted* to make a pot roast in there just as I've done a billion times before. It cooked on high for about 6 hours w/ canned soup and a dry soup mix + some water. It was icky, nasty dry as a bone! Gag!
That sounds like a dying crock pot, right?
Anyone have a great suggestion for brand/make/model for a new one? I've got my Bed, Bath and Beyond coupon burning a hole in my purse.
I know when mine bite the dust b/c it takes forever to cook anything in them.
I got one for Christmas and it was a stainless steel one with black insert. The name is West Bend and it says "The Crockery"...it is fabulous, the best crock pot I have ever purchased! It cooks quick and everything comes out so tender. I did not get the push button one though b/c dh (who works on electronics) said if it tore up it would be useless so we got the turn knob.
Good Luck! I love buying pretty kitchen appliances.
Mine is exactly the same but they must have changed the lid design b/c mines different than this one.
I love it, I don't use it enough though...

I have the 6 quart Crock Pot Programmable one too, like Traci. Everything always turns out wonderful when I use it. And I use it a LOT. I cook everything in there, from ham and beans, roasts, chili, spaghetti sauce, soups, chicken and beef stews. I got it from Wal-Mart...well, actually it was a wedding gift, but was purchased from Wal-Mart off our registry! I think it was around $50 2 years ago, and worth every penny!

I have a cheap one that I paid about $20 for a couple of years ago. It's nice that crock pots are now pretty cheap, I don't know what I would do without mine. Have fun shopping!
