yesterday for the first time, because I've been hearing that it's good for sugar cravings and controlling high sugar levels. I had been running around, doing things all morning - felt great, and then I took two capsules with my lunch. Within about 10 minutes, I had this overwhelming feeling of being sooo tired and drainied and I woke up two hours later. Do you think the cinammon caused me to have a hypo? Maybe I'm not supposed to take it if I'm already on medication to control my BG?
Why not try the real thing? I'm having it on my sweet potato tonight for dinner. Yesterday I had it on whole wheat bread. Tomorrow I think I'll be sprinkleing it on apples. You could also sprinkle it in hot chocolate or hot apple cider.
I have read that it lowers your blood pressure, so that may be it. I don't know. I started taking it yesterday too, but the real thing, not pills.

I assumed you would need a larger amount for it to be effective. I also don't like the taste of cinammon, so it's easier to just swallow a capsule. But I'm wondering if it's really powerfull enough to have caused a hypo. I'll ask my endo at the next appointment.
I have diabetes, but my glucose levels are really only slightly elevated, so early stages. I had salad, cottage cheese, brown bread for lunch, and I'm on metformin 2250mg and synthorid 0.05
I noticed that when I started takign the pills it bothered me compared to adding it to food. but I know I take it everyday when I take it in pill form.. So I only take 500mgs because anything higher and I do the same thing you mentioned.. I am not on MET or anything like it. But it could be to much for your body.. I would say take a smaller amount for now... maybe it's just way to much. Goodluck!
Yeah, I take one in the morning and one at night, myself. I don't konw what to tell you, I haven't felt any change yet, but I'm going into week 3 (on Saturday) of starting my new herbal supplement regimen.

Over the weekend, I was eating a lot of rubbish (as usual) and I took the two cinammon tables and felt great. Today, (Monday) back to eating well - which meant basically no sugar, only whole wheat bread, vegetables etc. and I felt really horrible again after taking them. I've been irritable and tired since I took them, I'm working so I don't have the option of taking a nap. It's probalby too much for when Im not taking in all that sugar.

In the studies, 1 tsp was no more effective than 1/4 tsp per day. 1, 3 or 6 grams of cinnamon had similar effects. So, you don't need a lot. And, it shouldn't cause a hypo, because it doesn't increase insulin.
